The Power of Meal Prep

One of the biggest "alleged" time-savers for busy moms is meal prep. "Spend a few hours on the weekend chopping veggies, cooking proteins, and portioning out meals for the week ahead." Let's be honest, who wants to spend their weekend doing this? I absolutely hate chopping veggies, insert Sous-Chef into my life, please. What about people who work nights, weekends, not at all etc. Does this really save you time during the hectic weekdays? I will recommend finding a dedicated time that works for you. I used to eat out ALL THE TIME. I noticed a huge difference in my health once I started preparing my own meals. Hey I even have a few hitters that the kids gave me compliments about.
Embrace the Capsule Wardrobe
Do you ever find yourself staring blankly into your closet, wondering what to wear? Yes! Then I remember I am a nurse so scrubs it is. I know, not everyone can just throw on scrubs to go to work, but you can to go grocery shopping. No, I don't expect you to go buy scrubs. I guess this Capsule Closet Machine idea would work for many moms. Choose a few versatile pieces that you love and that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. Not only will this save you time getting dressed in the morning, but it will also save you money by avoiding impulse clothing purchases. Plus, less clutter in your closet means less time spent searching for that elusive pair of jeans! Or if you are like me, leggings and t-shirt. The ultimate MomFit.
Master the Art of Multitasking

As moms, we're experts at multitasking, but sometimes we forget just how powerful this skill can be. Do we really forget how powerful this skill can be? It is more like sometimes I wish I could just do one task without 5,000 moms, come see this, stop hitting me, ahhhh, look, touch this, smell this, what is this. I guess you could always look for ways to combine tasks to make the most of your time. You know like wash your clothes in the shower. Who am I kidding, shower is for those without kids...haha. Here is a few practical examples, listen to audiobooks or podcasts while you're cooking dinner or folding laundry. Take phone calls while you're out for a walk with the stroller. By finding opportunities to multitask, you'll be amazed at how much more you can accomplish in a day.
Set Up a Command Center
Create a centralized command center in your home where you can keep track of schedules, to-do lists, and important documents. Do you think you would really look at this? I think I would glance at it every now and then. This could be a bulletin board in the kitchen, a wall calendar in the hallway, or a digital organization system on your phone or computer. I totally use my phone calendar, between kids, partners work schedule, work, activities, birthday parties etc. I haven't had a blank day in years. Having everything in one place will help you stay organized and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks.
Learn to Say No

As moms, we often feel like we have to do it all, but the truth is, it's okay to say no sometimes. Be selective about how you spend your time and energy, and don't be afraid to delegate tasks or ask for help when you need it. How many of us actually ask for help? You do! Yeah! Teach Me! Remember that self-care is not selfish, and taking time for yourself is essential for your well-being. I do believe in finding time for yourself. Now that my kids are older and I am not dreading the scream heard around the world from someone falling off of something. I have started to set boundaries and ask for privacy from my little copy machines. It's funny to hear them say it back to me or each other. "Give Me Privacy!"
Being a mom is one of the toughest jobs out there, but with a few simple hacks and strategies, you can make life a little bit easier for yourself. Can you really, though? Whether it's meal prepping, embracing a capsule wardrobe, or mastering the art of multitasking, there are plenty of ways to streamline your daily tasks and reclaim some much-needed time for yourself. Time for yourself, that sounds so foreign sometimes. So go ahead, try out these mom hacks, and give yourself the gift of more time and less stress. You've earned it, supermom!
